Balasore: A fisherman in Balasore netted a double deal as two fishes brought him a fortune of nearly Rs 16 lakh.
Making it the costliest fish to be caught along the Balasore coastline, the two Bhetki fishes which weighed around 30kg was netted by a fisherman.
When news of the prized catch spread trawler owners and people gathered at the Digha coast to get a glimpse of the fish.
The auction began and within a few minutes reached the final call.
The barramundi or Asian sea bass, also known as Bhetki, is a species of catadromous fish in the family Latidae of the order Perciformes. The species is widely distributed in the Indo-West Pacific region from South Asia to Papua New Guinea and Northern Australia.
