Nabarangpur: A businessman was injured after unidentified miscreants opened fire at him near Jharigaon road in Nabarangpur district late last evening.
The victim has been identified as Sanjeev Subudhi.
As per available information, two bike-borne youths intercepted Sanjeev at Jharigaon road and shot him.
Sanjeev fell unconscious on the road within minutes of sustaining bullet injuries on his waist.
The businessman was rushed to the local hospital and then to the district headquarters hospital. He was later shifted to Koraput in critical condition.
The reason behind the attack is yet to be known. Meanwhile, Umerkote police have begun investigation on the basis of CCTV footage.
