In a significant development for Odisha’s legal community, Tusharkanti Satapathy, a distinguished advocate of the Odisha High Court, has been appointed as a Judicial Member of the GST Appellate Tribunal by the President of India.
A resident of Samantsahi, Cuttack, Satapathy brings with him 35 years of illustrious legal experience.
The grandson of the late Banchanidhi Satapathy, the first headmaster of Ranihat High School, and son of Ajit Kumar Satapathy and Binodini Satapathy, Tusharkanti joined the Odisha High Court as an advocate in 1991. Over the decades, he has earned a stellar reputation, serving as Senior Standing Counsel for the Income Tax and Commercial Tax Departments, representing the government in numerous high-profile cases. His expertise also extends to handling cases for prestigious institutions such as the UGC and Madhusudan Law University, among other government bodies.
