Western Railway has suspended several night-time train services passing through Gujarat’s Bhuj region and routes leading to Rajasthan due to security concerns.
Several trains have been short-terminated or cancelled, while rail services to Punjab’s border areas, including Amritsar and Firozpur, have been halted amid blackout protocols.
The suspension comes amid escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border, impacting long-distance train services. Authorities have also imposed restrictions on drones and firecrackers in Gujarat and Rajasthan, citing public safety concerns. Travellers are advised to check official railway portals for updated train schedules and alternative routes.
Railway officials continue to monitor the situation, with further disruptions possible depending on security developments. Passengers with pre-booked tickets for affected routes are encouraged to seek refunds or alternative arrangements.
