Patrapur: Two persons lost their lives as a pickup van overturned in the Kankata ghati of Gajapati district. The deceased have been identified as Litu Sahu (35) and Kuresu Badatya (44), both residents of Niladri Chandrapur village under the jurisdiction of the Khariaguda police station in Ganjam district.
Both Litu, Kuresu with Pramod Sahu, were returning from Ramgiri after loading mangoes onto their pickup van (OD 07AK 6284). The vehicle overturned near Kankata ghati on the border of the Gajapati district. As a result, Litu and Kuresu died on the spot while Pramod sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Berhampur Medical in critical condition.
Upon receiving information, the Khariaguda Police promptly arrived at the scene. The bodies of the deceased were recovered and an investigation is underway.
