Memes take aim at the missed Dhurandhar clash
One of the recurring themes online has been the film’s earlier association with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge. An AI-generated meme shows Yash apparently hiding after spotting Ranveer Singh’s character looking for him.
The meme, shared by an X user, jokingly suggested that the image had become particularly relevant following Toxic’s release.
Another meme used a scene involving Dhurandhar 2’s Phir Se to depict an audience member seemingly contemplating whether to leave the theatre. The clip ends with the phrase “Balidan Paramon Dharam”, adding another layer to the joke.
‘Audience escaping’ memes flood social media
Several memes focused directly on the supposed audience experience inside theatres.
One viral-style meme referenced a previous comment by Yash, in which the actor had imagined audiences coming out of theatres and asking, “bro, what the hell was that?”
The comment was repurposed into a meme showing a person desperately trying to escape a theatre while Toxic’s music plays in the background.
Another video meme showed people rushing down an escalator, with the caption suggesting they were “escaping home after watching #Toxic”.
The exaggerated reactions have turned the film’s opening day into a social-media meme fest, even as audiences continue to form their own opinions about the movie.
‘Traumatised’ reactions become another meme trend
Other posts mocked the gap between the film’s high expectations and the reactions from some viewers.
One meme showed a frustrated man pulling his hair, accompanied by a caption joking that the hype, expectations and eventual reaction to Toxic had all become “toxic”.
Another meme used a Telugu film scene featuring a shocked character pleading to be freed to represent the reaction of someone watching the film on its first day.
A separate meme also used a dramatic scene featuring actor Karthi to jokingly portray an audience member questioning how they ended up watching the film.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.
The film, directed by Geetu Mohandas, was released in multiple South Indian languages as well as Hindi.
According to the figures cited in the report, Toxic opened with a worldwide collection of around ₹140 crore.
