The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow and orange weather warnings for multiple districts in Odisha due to anticipated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
The districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Keonjhar are under yellow warnings, indicating the highest risk of thunderstorms and potential lightning strikes. Residents of these areas have been advised to remain indoors as wind speeds are expected to range from 30 to 40 km/hr, accompanied by heavy rainfall and possible hailstorms.
Other districts, including Anugul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Gajapati, and Ganjam, are also forecasted to experience light showers and lightning. Authorities have urged residents to take necessary precautions against these adverse weather conditions.
Despite the stormy weather, the IMD has predicted no significant changes in minimum temperatures over the next 4-5 days.
