Security forces in Sukma district arrested three Maoist militia members carrying explosive materials near Pentapad village under Chintagufa police station limits.
The arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by Chintagufa police and personnel from the 50th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Dabbakonta camp.
The accused were identified as:
- Podiyam Joga (25), son of Podiyam Raja
- Madvi Masa (25), son of Madvi Somda
- Pojja Madvi (29), son of Ayata Madvi
Acting on specific intelligence received on August 31, a search team led by Inspector Govind Yadav (SHO, Chintagufa) and CRPF Inspector Bijendra Mohan Singh, along with Assistant Commandant Rakesh Singh, launched a patrol in the forested areas of Pentapad and Entapad.
Approximately 3 kilograms of a tiffin bomb, 5 electric detonators, 5 meters of cordex wire, 5 gelatin rods, 10 meters of electric wire, and 4 pencil cells were seized from their possession.
All three hail from Burkalanka village in Chintagufa and are active members of the banned Maoist militia. During interrogation, they confessed to planning an attack on security forces using the seized explosives.
A case has been registered under Sections 4 and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act at Chintagufa Police Station (Crime No. 09/2025). The accused were presented before the Special Court on September 1 and have been remanded to judicial custody.
