Security forces apprehended three hardcore Maoists near the Chhattisgarh-Odisha border in Sukma district.

The arrested individuals were wanted in connection with multiple violent incidents in Sukma and Bijapur districts.

According to Sukma SP Kiran Chauhan, two of the captured Maoists had bounties of Rs 8 lakh each, while the third carried a reward of Rs 5 lakh, announced by the Chhattisgarh government.

The arrests were made as part of a joint operation conducted by the DRG and CRPF units, further strengthening the ongoing anti-Naxal efforts in the region.

Officials confirmed that the operation took place in the Jagargunda police station area, a known Maoist stronghold. The arrests mark a significant achievement in the continued battle against insurgency in the state.
