Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror comedy Thamma has achieved a major milestone at the global box office. The film has collected Rs 110 crore worldwide within just five days of release, surpassing the lifetime earnings of Bhediya (Rs 95 crore).
Strong Weekend Boost
After a solid start on Diwali with an opening of Rs 24 crore net, Thamma experienced mild drops over the weekdays. However, the film bounced back on Saturday with a 30% jump in domestic earnings, collecting Rs 13 crore on day five compared to Rs 10 crore on day four.
With this, Thamma’s India total stands at Rs 78.60 crore net (Rs 94.25 crore gross). Trade analysts expect another surge on Sunday as word of mouth continues to grow.
Overseas Collections Show Steady Growth
The film opened slower in overseas markets, where Diwali isn’t a public holiday. Still, Thamma has gathered momentum over the weekend, earning just under $2 million abroad. This brings its worldwide total to an impressive Rs 110 crore by Saturday, signaling strong recovery and audience interest beyond India.
Thamma Beats Bhediya, Eyes Munjya Next
With this performance, Thamma has become the fourth Maddock Films horror comedy to join the Rs 100 crore club — following Stree, Stree 2, and Munjya.
By crossing Bhediya’s lifetime total, the Ayushmann-Rashmika starrer now aims to chase down Munjya, which earned Rs 132 crore in 2024.
