A Thai-flagged cargo vessel, Mayuree Naree, en route to Gujarat, was struck by two unidentified projectiles while navigating the Strait of Hormuz.
The attack triggered a fire onboard, prompting swift rescue efforts by the Omani navy. Twenty crew members were evacuated safely, while three remained on the vessel.
The incident occurred approximately 11 nautical miles off Oman’s northern coast, underscoring persistent maritime security risks in the Gulf region. Ship tracking data and maritime sources confirmed the strike, though the origin of the projectiles remains unclear.
