An unpleasant incident unfolded in Bhadrak district when two kinnar (third gender) groups clashed at the premises of Bhadrak Town Police Station.
To begin, one group lodged a complaint at the station. In response, members of the rival group gathered outside and staged a noisy protest.
Next, a viral video showed dozens of kinnars dressed in colourful sarees shouting slogans and raising their hands in protest outside the police station. As the commotion continued, police personnel attempted to control the situation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Furthermore, sources revealed that the dispute stemmed from an ongoing rivalry between the two groups. Earlier, similar conflicts over territory and rights had surfaced in Bhadrak, some of which had even turned violent.
Moreover, police have taken steps to bring the situation under control and confirmed that an investigation is underway.
