Daytime temperatures across Odisha are expected to increase starting today, even as the state experiences largely dry conditions with the possibility of isolated rainfall in several districts over the coming days, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) Bhubaneswar.

Currently, there is no major weather system influencing the state’s atmosphere. In the past 24 hours, rainfall was recorded in four cities, with Baripada registering the highest at 26 cm. Dhenkanal recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36.1 degrees Celsius.

Dr. Sanjeev Dwivedi of the Regional Meteorological Centre said the weather will remain dry from Monday to Wednesday, with rain likely at some places.

As per the forecast, scattered rainfall is expected till March 25 in districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Keonjhar.

On March 26, thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall and winds blowing at 30-40 kmph are likely in Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur districts, for which the RMC has issued an alert.

A yellow warning has been issued for heavy rainfall in some parts of the state from March 26 to 28. Temperatures are expected to rise again from April 1 onwards.
