The Indian cricket team departed from Mumbai Airport on Friday for a five-match Test series in England, scheduled from June to August 2025. The tour is part of the 2025–27 ICC World Test Championship cycle.
The series marks a new chapter for Indian Test cricket following the retirement of senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli earlier this month. Shubman Gill takes over as Test captain, with Rishabh Pant named vice-captain.
Test Match Venues:
-
Headingley, Leeds
-
Edgbaston, Birmingham
-
Lord’s and The Oval, London
-

To aid preparations, several Indian players had already been playing warm-up matches with India A against England Lions. The rest of the squad will join in the UK by Friday.
This will be India’s first full Test tour of England since their 4-1 loss in 2021, and they’ll aim to end a drought dating back to their last Test series win in England in 2007.
