Angul: Odisha Vigilance sleuths today arrested Dharanidhar Nayak, the Deputy Director of Mines of Talcher in Angul district for possession of disproportionate assets worth about Rs 5 crores.
Based on searches conducted on properties of Nayak, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including 2 Multi Storeyed Buildings, one 3-BHK Flat worth approx Rs.1.30 crore & 1 Duplex of area 1800 sqft at BBSR, 2 Market Complexes with 19 shops, 11 Plots, Deposits Rs. 53.53 Lakhs, Household articles worth Rs 54.70 Lakhs, cash over Rs 9.85 Lakhs, etc, which he could not explain satisfactorily.
DA possessed by Nayak includes the following assets unearthed during searches conducted by Odisha Vigilance on 2.9.2024.
1. 2 Multi Storeyed Buildings.
2. one 3-BHK Flat worth approx Rs.1.30 crore & 1 Duplex of area 1800 sqft at BBSR.
3. 2 Market Complexes with 19 shops.
4.11 Plots.
5. Deposits Rs. 53.53 Lakhs.
6. Household articles worth Rs.54.70 Lakhs.
7. cash over Rs.9.85 Lakhs.
8.1 four wheelers and 2 two-wheelers, etc
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No. 25 dt. 3.9.2024 was registered against Nayak and his spouse U/s 13(2)r/w13(1)(b)/12 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
Following this, Nayak has been placed under arrest and will be forwarded to the court today.
