Police arrested a youth on Monday night for allegedly abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl in Sundargarh district.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 7, when the minor went to a mango orchard under the jurisdiction of Kinjirkela police station.
Reports confirmed that the accused abducted the girl from the orchard and raped her. The victim’s family immediately lodged a complaint at Kinjirkela police station. Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Officers moved quickly and apprehended the accused within 24 hours of the crime. Authorities confirmed that further investigation continues to establish all details surrounding the incident.
