The Odisha Government has accepted the resignation of former DGP Abhay from his position as the Chairman of Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC).
The resignation comes into effect immediately.
To ensure the smooth functioning of the commission, OSSC Member Sudhakar Burgi has been given the charge as the OSSC Chairman. The sudden transition has sparked discussions regarding the future course of OSSC’s recruitment processes and administrative efficiency.
In addition to Sudhakar, Udaya Narayan Das, the Director of Census Operations, and Shruti Das, a former professor in the Department of English at Berhampur University, have also been appointed as members of the OSSC.
As the recruitment body responsible for selecting candidates for various state government positions, the OSSC plays a crucial role in shaping Odisha’s workforce. With a new leadership direction under Sudhakar Burgi, it remains to be seen how this shift will impact recruitment and selection policies in the coming months.
