Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has warned of stern action against persons trying to take COVID jab by producing false co-morbid medical certificates.
The State health department, taking cognizance of the matter, on Wednesday said that stringent action will be taken on detection of false medical certificate.
The health department said proper verification must be done by the registered medical practitioners while issuing such certificates for coronavirus vaccination.
The Union Health Ministry has prescribed that persons aged 45 years to 59 years with specified co-morbidities are eligible to get the jab subject to certification to that effect by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
The health department has directed the district collectors, municipal commissioners directors under health and family welfare department, superintendents of all government MCHs, all CDMO and PHOs, to remain vigilant against any misuse of the provision.
The instruction said detection of false medical certificate is punishable and the person producing such false medical certificate is also punishable by law.
