A crucial review meeting of the Subhadra Yojana is set to take place today (Wednesday), focusing on including women who were previously left out of the state government’s flagship welfare scheme.

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida confirmed that the meeting will examine reports collected from three key departments — Transport, Food Supplies, and Health — to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is excluded.

The Women and Child Development Department, which is the nodal agency for the scheme, had earlier written to these departments to collect data for a comprehensive review.

  • Transport Department – tasked with verifying four-wheeler ownership of beneficiaries.

  • Health Department – asked to cross-check lists of deceased beneficiaries to avoid duplication.

  • Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department – instructed to provide records on paddy procurement and sales of eligible farmers.

Based on this data, the state government will deliberate on mechanisms to incorporate the left-out beneficiaries.

“We have clarified from the beginning that not a single eligible woman will be deprived of the benefits of Subhadra Yojana. As we receive verified information, we are adding these beneficiaries afresh to the list,”
— Deputy CM Parida

The outcome of the meeting is expected to bring clarity to thousands of families waiting for inclusion under the scheme, which aims to deliver targeted financial assistance and welfare benefits to women across Odisha.
