A shocking incident in Ganjam district’s Patapur block has left a nine-year-old boy fighting for his life after a pack of dogs attacked him outside his home in Mahanala village.
The child was playing near his house when five dogs surrounded and mauled him. During the attack, the animals tore away part of his skull, causing severe head injuries. Local residents rushed to his rescue by beating back the dogs and managed to save him.
The boy sustained deep wounds on his head and was immediately taken to Digapahandi Medical. Doctors later referred him to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, where he remains under treatment in critical condition.
The incident has sparked panic among parents in the area. Residents expressed concern over the growing menace of stray dogs and demanded urgent measures to prevent similar attacks.
