Baripada: Days after the incident of elephant poaching and concealment of the case in Similipal, the Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a wildlife criminal with seizure of a skin of Royal Bengal Tiger (RBT).
Two others involved in the crime managed to flee, the STF said.
Acting on a tip off, the task force raided a place near Bisipur on Baripada-Udala road while the criminals were striking a deal with a customer to sell the skin.
The big cat was shot dead by the wildlife criminal in Similipal tiger reserve a month ago.
Recently, the STF had arrested a smuggler allegedly possessing wildlife products at Baladhadi under Jankia police station in Khordha district. A leopard skin and other incriminating materials were recovered from his possession.
