The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported maximum temperatures above normal in various regions, with Boudh recording the highest temperature at a scorching 39.8°C.

The IMD advises residents to take precautions as temperatures are expected to continue rising. Heatwave conditions will likely affect Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, and Kalahandi in the coming days, with warnings extending to Bargarh and Sundargarh by March 31st. Light showers are predicted for Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Bargarh starting April 2nd, offering some respite from the heat.

The state capital is forecast to experience clear skies with temperatures ranging from 38°C (maximum) to 25°C (minimum). Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak daytime hours.
Farmer Advisory:
Farmers are encouraged to utilize weather apps like MAUSAM and Meghdoot for precise updates. Coastal fishermen, however, have no specific warnings over the next five days.
