Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the birth centenary celebrations of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Andhra Pradesh and emphasised that Seva or service defines the central value of Indian civilisation.

The Prime Minister began his remarks with “Sai Ram” and described his presence in the sacred land of Puttaparthi as both emotional and spiritual. He offered floral tributes at Baba’s Samadhi and said that bowing at Baba’s feet always fills the heart with deep emotion.

Modi underlined that the centenary year represents not just a celebration but a divine blessing. He noted that although Baba no longer appears in physical form, his teachings, love, and spirit of service continue to guide millions worldwide. Furthermore, he highlighted that in more than 140 countries, countless lives move forward with renewed light, direction, and resolve.

The Prime Minister described Baba’s life as a living embodiment of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. He said the centenary has become a grand festival of universal love, peace, and service. On this occasion, the Government released a ₹100 commemorative coin and a postage stamp that reflect Baba’s legacy of service. Modi extended greetings to devotees, volunteers, and followers across the world.

He remarked that a single meeting with Baba could melt hearts or change lives, reflecting his greatness. Modi noted that many individuals present at the programme had experienced a deep transformation through Baba’s message.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, Modi said that in 2014, only 25 crore people enjoyed social security coverage, whereas today nearly 100 crore citizens benefit from schemes. He added that India’s welfare framework now attracts international attention.

Acknowledging the contribution of devotees inspired by Baba, Modi said Puttaparthi radiates a unique energy where compassion, peace, and service thrive. He expressed confidence that devotees will continue to stand as beacons of hope wherever deprivation exists.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers K Rammohan Naidu, G Kishan Reddy, and Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Verma joined the event along with other dignitaries.
