In a dazzling display of power-packed batting, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) made a thunderous start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season by scoring a mammoth 286/6 in their opening match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on March 23.
With Ishan Kishan leading the charge with an unbeaten 106 off 47 balls and Travis Head smashing 67 off 31 balls, SRH demonstrated their batting prowess in front of an electrified crowd.
The innings saw contributions from Heinrich Klaasen (34 off 14) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (30 off 15), as SRH came perilously close to breaking their own record for the highest total in IPL history—287/3. Although a late collapse in the final over prevented them from surpassing the record, the team reached the 200-run mark in just 14.1 overs, equaling the tournament’s fastest pace alongside Royal Challengers Bangalore’s 2016 feat.
The astounding performance sets the stage for an exhilarating IPL season, with SRH emerging as a strong contenders for the title.
