The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has introduced special darshan arrangements for devotees during the sacred Panchuka period at Srimandir in Puri.
A review meeting chaired by the Puri District Collector finalised the plan. Devotees will enter exclusively through the Singhadwara, while the other three gates will serve as exit points to regulate crowd movement. To manage the surge in footfall, the administration will install 11 barricaded lanes inside the temple premises.
On Anla Navami, darshan of the holy Radhapada will commence at 5 AM and continue late into the night. The temple expects a significant rise in pilgrim numbers during Panchuka, prompting enhanced discipline and safety protocols.
Special provisions have been made for elderly women observing Kartika rituals, known as Habisyalis. They will be guided through a dedicated corridor for ease of access. Help centres will operate at all four gates to assist devotees.
Volunteers and Jagannath Temple Police (JTP) will provide support to the elderly, persons with disabilities, and those with health concerns. Drinking water stations will be placed strategically to meet the needs of pilgrims.
These arrangements reflect the temple administration’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling experience for all visitors during this auspicious time.
