The sacred Deba Snana Purnima rituals unfolded with grandeur and deep devotion at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri today, as the Trinity siblings — Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra — were ceremoniously placed atop the Snana Mandap for the annual Snana Yatra.
The day began with the Mangalarpan at 5:32 am, setting the spiritual tone. Following this, the deities were escorted in a traditional Pahandi procession from the Ratna Bedi (inner sanctum) to the Snana Bedi (bathing platform), amidst an atmosphere filled with divine chants, beating of gongs, and blowing of conches.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi arrived through the Uttara Dwara of the Srimandir to witness the holy spectacle. He was joined by Puri MP Dr. Sambit Patra and Pipili MLA Ashrit Pattanayak, who also paid their respects on this auspicious day.
The Snana Yatra is a major prelude to the Rath Yatra, scheduled this year for June 27, and marks the ceremonial public appearance and bathing of the deities. The elaborate rituals and royal procession continue to draw lakhs of devotees to Puri, highlighting Odisha’s deep spiritual and cultural traditions.
