Saraswati Puja, dedicated to Goddess Saraswati—the revered symbol of knowledge, learning, and wisdom—was celebrated with deep devotion and festive enthusiasm across Odisha on the auspicious occasion of Magha Shukla Panchami.
From rural villages to urban centres, a vibrant spiritual atmosphere filled educational institutions and neighbourhoods as students, teachers, and devotees gathered to seek the blessings of the Goddess. The celebrations highlighted the cultural and educational significance of the festival, which holds a special place in the academic calendar.
Special puja rituals and prayers were organised in schools, colleges, and coaching centres across the state. Campuses were beautifully decorated, creating a joyful and inclusive environment that reflected the spirit of Saraswati Puja.
A particularly inspiring moment was witnessed at Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Unit-8, where students themselves conducted the Saraswati Puja instead of a priest. The students chanted hymns, followed traditional rituals, and performed the puja with discipline and devotion, showcasing leadership and cultural awareness.
Appreciating the initiative, the school principal said that encouraging students to actively participate in rituals promotes responsibility, confidence, and respect for tradition. The institution plans to continue such meaningful practices to make celebrations more impactful and educational.
The student-led puja received widespread appreciation from parents and local residents, adding a unique and memorable dimension to Saraswati Puja celebrations across Odisha this year.
