New Delhi: Sarah Sharma, a 2010-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Odisha cadre, is poised to join the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as Deputy Inspector General (DIG).
According to an official notification from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Sharma will be inducted into the CBI on a deputation basis for a period of five years from the date she assumes charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever comes first.
The MHA, in a letter to the Odisha Chief Secretary, has requested the state authorities to relieve Sharma immediately to enable her to assume her new assignment at the Centre.
Earlier, Sharma has served as SP (Vigilance), Sambalpur.
