In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, Santosh Kumar Sarangi, a 1994-batch IAS officer from the Odisha cadre, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Sarangi, who previously served as the Director General of Foreign Trade, brings extensive experience in policy-making and administration.
His appointment comes at a crucial time when India is aggressively pushing its renewable energy agenda to meet climate commitments.
Sarangi is expected to play a pivotal role in expanding India’s clean energy infrastructure, fostering international collaborations, and driving innovation in sustainable energy solutions. His leadership will be instrumental in shaping policies that encourage investment in renewable energy projects.
