YRF’s romantic drama Saiyaara continues its meteoric rise at the box office, inching toward a Rs 400 crore domestic haul despite mixed critical reception and fierce competition from newly released films.
Trade analyst Girish Johar confirms that the debutant-led project is “tracking very well” and remains on course for a landmark finish.
Starring fresh faces Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film’s heartwarming narrative and musical flair have earned widespread audience approval, propelling it into the league of Bollywood’s biggest romantic hits. Even as Dhadak 2, Son of Sardaar 2, and the animation feature Mahavtar Narsimha entered theatres, Saiyaara held its own, buoyed by strong word-of-mouth and sustained enthusiasm.
Johar noted that while new releases may briefly slow the momentum, the film’s overall run remains “very successful,” potentially extending beyond 55 days. With Rs 273 crore already in the bag, Saiyaara is expected to cross Rs 300 crore by the end of its third weekend, keeping hopes alive for a Rs 400 crore lifetime total.
As the overseas market gears up for fresh international releases, Johar projected a solid $9–10 million in global revenues for Saiyaara. Its continued box office dominance marks a rare triumph for debutant-driven romantic cinema in 2025—a benchmark unlikely to be matched this year.
