Aryna Sabalenka defeated Victoria Mboko 7-6 (0), 6-4 in the BNP Paribas Open quarterfinals, keeping her unbeaten run intact and moving closer to her first Indian Wells title.
Sabalenka’s Strong Run
Sabalenka faced resistance from Mboko, who previously won the Canadian Open, but she controlled the crucial points. She dominated the first-set tiebreak and broke serve in the second set to secure victory. She now prepares to face Linda Noskova in the semifinals.
Svitolina and Rybakina Progress
Elina Svitolina stunned Iga Swiatek 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, breaking serve late in the third set to clinch her spot. Elena Rybakina also advanced, defeating Jessica Pegula 6-1, 7-6 (4).
Sinner and Zverev Shine
Jannik Sinner powered past Learner Tien 6-1, 6-2 with 10 aces, ending the American teenager’s breakthrough run. Alexander Zverev maintained control against Arthur Fils, winning 6-2, 6-3 with strong serving.
Medvedev’s Controversial Win
Daniil Medvedev overcame Jack Draper 6-1, 7-5 in a match marked by a disputed ruling. Draper argued against a point awarded to Medvedev after a video review, but Medvedev capitalised on the momentum to break serve and close out the match. He will face either Carlos Alcaraz or Cameron Norrie in the semifinals.
The BNP Paribas Open semifinals now feature Sabalenka, Noskova, Svitolina, Rybakina, Sinner, Zverev, and Medvedev, setting up high-stakes clashes in both draws.
