Imran Khan death rumours protest

Reports spread rapidly on social media claiming that former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had died inside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi — allegedly at the hands of the country’s security establishment — sparking violence and unrest outside the prison.

Followers and supporters gathered outside the jail demanding proof or confirmation of Khan’s fate. According to protesters and multiple social-media posts, clashes broke out when police reportedly assaulted some of Khan’s family members, including his sisters, who had attempted to visit him seeking information.

However — and importantly — fact-checking by reliable sources finds no credible evidence supporting the claim that Imran Khan died in custody. No official statement from the government, jail authorities, or his legal team has confirmed any such event.

Officials at Adiala Jail have publicly dismissed the speculation. A recent statement clarified that Khan remains in custody, is in good health, and continues to receive regular medical attention and supervision.

Despite denials and reassurances, distrust among supporters and the volatile political climate have fueled unrest — underlining the significant consequences that unverified rumours can trigger in high-tension contexts.
