Police achieved a major breakthrough in Rourkela by arresting four men involved in illegal arms trade, cattle smuggling and land dealings.

Acting on intelligence, Bisra police formed a special team under Inspector Manoranjan Kumbar and Zonal DSP Jitendra Nath Sethi. The team raided Gudgudjor village near Bisra police station. Officers first searched the house of Mozamil Ansari and recovered a country-made revolver with live rounds. His interrogation revealed the involvement of three more associates. Police raided their homes and seized weapons, vehicles and incriminating materials.

Police confiscated three country-made guns, one fake toy gun, four live bullets, mobile phones, an auto, a Scorpio SUV, motorcycles, iron rods and sharp weapons. The accused included Mozamil Ansari (33), Samir Ansari (34), Hasan Ansari (50) and MD Gulap (48). All four were arrested and produced in court. Their bail pleas were rejected, and they were sent to jail.

Investigations revealed that the accused had multiple cases registered against them in different police stations. Mozamil and Samir were known for cattle smuggling operations across Jharkhand and Odisha. Police confirmed their links with organised cattle mafia and illegal arms networks.

DSP Jitendra Nath Sethi informed during a press briefing that the accused were deeply involved in illegal cattle trade, arms smuggling and land dealings. Police assured strict action against such networks and urged citizens to remain vigilant.
