A rice‑laden truck overturned near Bhoipada on the Gurunda–Bhoipada road under Muribahal police limits in Kantabanji on Saturday, leaving the driver critically injured.
The truck was carrying 35 tons of rice from Raipur to Andhra Pradesh. While passing through the Bongomunda–Titlagarh route, the vehicle lost balance near Bhoipada and fell off the road. The driver sustained serious injuries.
Local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the driver. They immediately shifted him to Kantabanji Medical for treatment. Doctors confirmed his condition as critical.
Muribahal police reached the accident site and started an investigation. Officers are examining how the truck lost balance and whether overloading or road conditions contributed to the mishap.
