New Delhi: BharatGPt, the mega-group backed by Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries, is all set to launch the Artificial Intelligence model for India.
This ChatGPT-style AIR model will begin to roll out its services next month in March. BharatGPT is a mega consortium that includes RILÂ and eight prominent universities.
Recently at an event, the teaser of the AI model was shown to a selected audience. The AI model offered a sneak peek into its workings. A bike mechanic was shown asking a question in Tamil, while a banker was seen talking in Hindi with the AI bot. A developer was also shown writing computer code with the help of the AI model.
The AI model, which has the backing of Reliance, has been named “Hanooman”. The AI model is set to be functional in as many as 11 local languages. Hanooman, the AI model, will focus on four fields: governance, health care, education and financial services.
It developed the model in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology universities including in Bombay, backed by wireless carrier Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd and the Indian government.
Other startups such as Sarvam and Krutrim backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Vinod Khosla’s fund, are also building open-sourced AI models for India. The AI model – Hanooman – will offer speech-to-text capabilities to the users with the goal of making it more user-friendly.
