Deogarh: A man was killed while another person was injured due to reckless driving at Salapghati Chakk under Reamal police station limits in Deogarh district today.
The deceased person was identified as Bulu Sahu (30) and the injured person has been identified as Aanand Behera (25) from Harharpur village under Malehi pada Garmpanchayat.
Reportedly, the incident occurred at around 8 am today when the duo was out for a ride. Due to reckless driving, the rider lost control over the two-wheeler and hit the roadside pole. Following this, he fell down to death in 8ft gorge. While Anand sustained grievous injuries.
Later, locals rescued them and rushed them to the Chatabara community health centre for treatment, where the doctor declared Bulu ‘brought dead’.
On receiving information, police reached the spot. The body was sent for post-mortem to Deogarh district health centre. An investigation has been launched into the matter, police said.
