Muniguda Police cracked a high-profile theft case involving stolen gold, silver, and cash from a vacant residence in Munikhol village, Rayagada, reported on September 26.
After receiving a written complaint, SDPO Santosini Oram instructed IIC Saudamini Behera, SI Bikash Debnath, and ASI Jayachandra Sahu to launch an investigation. The team followed multiple leads and arrested six suspects: Ajay Bag and Sajit Karakaria from Chandili, along with Pramod Suna, Arman Bhatra, Pintu Takri, and Bhupendra Suna from Muniguda.
Ajay Bag pledged the stolen gold at Indel Money, a private bank in Rayagada, and secured a ₹3 lakh loan. He transferred the money to Bhupendra Suna’s account, prompting police to arrest him as well.
Police registered the case under Muniguda PS Case No. 193/25. They recovered ₹8,000 in cash, a gold chain, silver anklets, and other stolen ornaments. Officers forwarded all accused to court.
SDPO Santosini Oram confirmed the arrests and recoveries, calling it a major breakthrough in the investigation.
