Nazma Shaikh clarifies viral video
The viral video appeared to show Nazma speaking to Rajpal Yadav and asking him to leave the premises. The footage subsequently triggered speculation on social media about what had happened at the prayer meet.
Addressing the controversy, Nazma said the video had led to misconceptions because it did not show the complete context.
She said Rajpal shared a close bond with Mushtaq Khan and had been present during the actor’s final moments and funeral proceedings.
Nazma said Rajpal considered Mushtaq Khan like an elder brother and was present at the prayer meet and burial.
She urged people not to draw conclusions based solely on the viral footage.
‘My anger was not directed at Rajpal Bhaiya’
Explaining her reaction, Nazma said her anger was directed at people who were taking pictures during the funeral without considering the atmosphere and the purpose of the gathering.
She stressed that Rajpal Yadav was not the target of her reaction.
Nazma also appealed to media outlets and social media users to understand the complete context before sharing or reporting the video.
Mushtaq Khan’s death
Mushtaq Khan died on September 24 at Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital after his health deteriorated following a cancer diagnosis. His son Mohsin Khan had earlier said that the actor had been battling cancer and that his condition had worsened rapidly.
His last rites were held in Mumbai on September 25. Several members of the film industry, including Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra, Manish Wadhwa, Shehzad Khan, Zaid Darbar and Sunil Pal, along with filmmaker Anees Bazmee, attended the funeral to pay their respects.
Nazma’s clarification comes as the original video continues to circulate online, with her asking people to avoid misleading interpretations and consider the full context of the incident.
