Fame Gurukul winner Qazi Touqeer revisited a major turning point in his early career during a candid conversation with fellow Bigg Boss 20 housemate Aamrapali Dubey.
The singer recalled how his 2005 reality show victory brought an offer from producer Ektaa Kapoor for a television drama centred on a rockstar.
Qazi, who was just 20 at the time, admitted he struggled to grasp the character description and felt distracted during the narration. Hesitant to decline the project directly, he relied on an associate, Anupama, to convey his decision.
Prior film commitments and a signed contract prevented him from accepting the television show, which was later identified as Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai.
While his decision was accepted calmly in person, Qazi woke up the next morning to damaging headlines such as “Qazi ditched Ekta Kapoor” and “Qazi has a bigger fish to fry”.
Without social media platforms to clarify his stance back then, the singer noted that the media narrative painted him in a negative light, leaving lasting public scrutiny.
