Puri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday dedicated the much-awaited Shreemandira Parikrama Prakalpa or Srimandir Heritage Corridor project to the public in the presence of Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb.
Adorned with flowers, lights, and graffiti, the Pilgrim Town of Puri is immersed in divinity, devotion and festivities for the grand inauguration of the Srimandir Heritage Corridor Project today.
The project includes parking areas, Shree Setu (a bridge), Shree Danda (a road), running parallel to Bada Danda to ease pilgrim movement, pilgrimage centre, restroom facilities, cloakrooms, toilets and other amenities for visitors in and around the Shree Jagannath temple.
The CM reached Puri at around 1 pm and unveiled the much-awaited project at 1.30 pm amid a large number of devotees from different parts of Odisha and the country congregated here for the inaugural ceremony. The three-day-long yagna culminated on Wednesday afternoon, after Gajapati Maharaj of Puri Divyasingha Deb gave ‘purnahuti’ in the ‘havan’.
Patnaik dedicated the project to devotees with the culmination of the Yagna. Later, the priests, sadhus and other delegates along with the chief minister went around the Parikrma around the temple.
