In a significant religious and administrative outreach, members of the Shree Jagannath Temple Management Committee visited the Govardhan Peetha in Puri on Saturday to seek divine counsel and strategic guidance from Jagadguru Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati.
The high-level delegation was led by the permanent president of the Shrimandir Management Committee, Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb, and the acting chairman, alongside State Chief Secretary Anu Garg. The meeting served as a collaborative platform to deliberate on crucial religious matters and review ongoing development blueprints for the holy shrine.

Shankaracharya’s Guidance on Culture and Order
Expressing concern over modern societal shifts, Jagadguru Nischalananda Saraswati noted that a wave of cultural corruption and anarchy is currently sweeping across the nation and the world. Emphasising that Odisha must remain shielded from such influences, he reiterated his readiness to offer proper guidance in alignment with Supreme Court directives aimed at safeguarding Sanatan Dharma and culture.
“As per the Supreme Court’s decision to protect Sanatan Dharma culture, if advice is sought, proper guidance can be given to ensure the sanctity of the tradition is maintained.”
Furthermore, the Shankaracharya warmly welcomed the implementation of the new queue system for darshan at the 12th-century shrine. He stressed that maintaining an orderly system will ensure peace, convenience, and a spiritually fulfilling experience for the millions of devotees visiting Lord Jagannath.
