A delegation of servitors from Puri’s Chhatisa Niyog met Opposition Leader Naveen Patnaik at his residence, Naveen Niwas, in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday evening to extend a heartfelt invitation for the world-famous Rath Yatra.
The servitors expressed gratitude for the significant contributions made by the Patnaik-led government towards the development of Puri and the revered Jagannath Temple. “You have done so much for Puri. Please grace the Rath Yatra with your presence,” the servitors urged, acknowledging Patnaik’s efforts in enhancing the city’s infrastructure and temple activities.
During the meeting, Patnaik advised the servitors to ensure the Rath Yatra, scheduled for June 27, is conducted with discipline and devotion. The event was attended by MP Subhasish Khuntia and prominent servitors, including Sain Khuntia, Gaurahari Pradhan, Lokanath Mahasuar, Rabishankar Padhiari, Kashinath Mahasuar, Damodar Pratihari, Haria Suar, Asit Mekap, Krishnachandra Gochhikar, and Jameswar Mahanti.
