The annual Matriculation examinations in Odisha will commence on February 19, with 5,61,979 students set to appear for the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations across the state this year.

The exams are being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha at 3,082 centres statewide. Officials have confirmed that elaborate arrangements are in place to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations.

CCTV Surveillance to Ensure Transparency

In a significant step towards maintaining transparency and preventing malpractice, all examination centres will remain under CCTV surveillance. Authorities will monitor the entire process live from the Board’s central command and control room.

Officials stated that this measure aims to create a fair, inclusive, and stress-free examination environment for all students appearing for the Odisha Matric exams.

Expert Welcomes CBSE Supplementary Policy

Amid discussions around exam-related stress, noted educationist R. N. Panda expressed confidence in the preparedness of students.

He also welcomed the supplementary examination policy of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), calling it a student-friendly initiative.

Under the CBSE policy, students who are unable to perform well in subjects such as English, Science, Social Studies, and Languages can appear for supplementary examinations. Improved scores are added to their final results, offering students a second opportunity to enhance their performance.

Advisory for Students

Educationists and lecturers have advised students to remain calm, focused, and confident during the examination period. They encouraged candidates to follow a disciplined routine, get adequate rest, and avoid unnecessary stress.

With comprehensive monitoring mechanisms and administrative preparations in place, authorities expressed confidence that the Odisha HSC examinations will be conducted smoothly and efficiently across all centres.
