The Punjab Police have dismantled an ISI-controlled narcotics network operating from Pakistan.
The operation led to the arrest of Indian operative Amarjot Singh, with authorities seizing a staggering 85 kg of heroin.
The smuggling module was reportedly managed by a UK-based handler, Lalli, while Amarjot Singh played a crucial role in receiving shipments from across the border and distributing them within Punjab. His residence was used as a major stash point for the illicit trade.
Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav confirmed that an FIR has been registered, and investigations are underway to identify further connections and suspects. “We are actively pursuing leads and expect more arrests and recoveries in the coming days,” Yadav stated.
The Punjab Police reaffirmed their commitment to tackling drug trafficking and ensuring a safer, drug-free Punjab.
