Bollywood actor Puneet Issar, famous for his portrayal of Duryodhan in the iconic television series Mahabharat, is set to make his debut in Odisha’s Jatra industry, popularly known as Jaliwood.
Issar will perform in Danger, a production by Yatra Natyamandap, owned by Rani Panda. Panda confirmed the news, saying that Issar’s entry will mark a new chapter for Odia Jatra, blending cinematic intensity with traditional stage drama.
The actor, who has already made his mark in Bollywood and Ollywood, now steps into Jatra to connect with grassroots audiences through live performance. His participation is expected to draw massive crowds and elevate the artistic appeal of the Odia theatre scene.
Rani Panda expressed excitement about the collaboration, calling it a milestone for Jatra. She said Issar’s experience and commanding presence will bring a fresh dimension to the play Danger, which explores themes of courage and human emotion.
