Prime Video has unveiled its most ambitious content lineup yet, announcing a slate of nearly 55 shows and films for 2026. The announcement was made at the “Prime Video Presents” showcase, highlighting a diverse mix of original series, movies, theatrical releases, and licensed content across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

The expansive slate reflects the platform’s growing focus on regional storytelling and global audience engagement, combining streaming premieres with theatrical releases from Amazon MGM Studios India.

Diverse Lineup of Originals

The 2026 slate introduces a wide range of new original titles across genres, including:

  • The Revolutionaries, directed by Nikkhil Advani and starring Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, and Gurfateh Pirzada
  • Matka King featuring Vijay Varma
  • Raakh starring Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre, and Aamir Bashir
  • Lukkhe, marking the acting debut of rapper KING
  • Vansh – The Kalyug Warriors, India’s first homegrown Hindi superhero series for streaming

These projects reflect Prime Video’s continued investment in both established creators and emerging talent.

Return of Popular Franchises

Alongside new titles, the platform confirmed upcoming seasons of several fan-favourite series, including:

  • Farzi Season 2
  • Panchayat Season 5
  • Call Me Bae Season 2
  • Dupahiya Season 2
  • Dahaad Season 2
  • The Traitors Season 2

This mix of fresh content and returning hits aims to maintain audience engagement across genres and demographics.

Regional Expansion and New Formats

Prime Video is also strengthening its regional content portfolio with multiple Tamil and Telugu projects. Key highlights include:

  • Telugu adaptation of The Traitors, hosted by Teja Sajja
  • Guvvala Cheruvu Ghat, a Telugu drama starring Kiran Abbavaram and Thiruveer
  • Tamil series Exam and Vadhandhi Season 2
  • Inspector Rishi Season 2

The platform’s regional strategy underscores the increasing demand for localized storytelling in India.

New Collaborations and Theatrical Releases

The slate also marks new partnerships with prominent industry figures. Hrithik Roshan’s HRX Films will debut on streaming with Storm and Mess, while Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions will present Don’t Be Shy.

In addition, Amazon MGM Studios India announced five theatrical films, including:

  • Raftaar starring Rajkummar Rao and Keerthy Suresh
  • VIBE, directed by Kunal Kemmu
  • Dilkashi with music by A.R. Rahman
  • Nayyi Navelli featuring Yami Gautam
  • Kuku Ki Kundli starring Bhuvan Bam and Wamiqa Gabbi

These films will follow a hybrid release model, eventually streaming on Prime Video after their theatrical runs.

Growing Global Impact

Prime Video emphasized India’s strategic importance in its global growth. The platform noted that a significant portion of its audience consumes content in multiple languages, while Indian titles continue to perform strongly worldwide.

Executives highlighted that India remains one of the top markets for new Prime memberships, with Indian originals featuring prominently among globally viewed non-English content.

Conclusion

With its 2026 slate, Prime Video is reinforcing its position as a leading OTT platform in India by combining scale, diversity, and innovation. From high-profile originals to regional stories and theatrical ventures, the lineup signals a new phase of growth for streaming entertainment in the country.
