President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu unveiled the bust of former President Shri K R Narayanan at Raj Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram on October 23, 2025.
The ceremony was attended by former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Kerala Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Bihar Governor Shri Arif Mohammed Khan, Kerala Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, and other dignitaries.
President Murmu described Shri Narayanan’s life as a powerful story of courage, perseverance, and self-belief. She highlighted his journey from humble beginnings to the highest constitutional office, driven by education and determination. Before entering politics, Shri Narayanan served with distinction in the Indian Foreign Service, promoting India’s values of peace and cooperation.
She emphasized his deep connection to Kerala, his home state, which shaped his commitment to inclusivity and social progress. Even as President, he remained rooted in his origins and advocated for education as a universal right. His belief in human values and fairness guided his public service and leadership.
President Murmu praised Shri Narayanan’s legacy of integrity, compassion, and democratic spirit. She urged citizens to draw inspiration from his life and uphold the values he stood for—equality, justice, and public service.
