President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, graced the convocation ceremony of Ravenshaw University, highlighting the institution’s historic role in Odisha’s formation and India’s freedom movement.

She praised its enduring commitment to education and women’s empowerment, noting that its alumni include esteemed freedom fighters, scholars, and reformers.

President Murmu commended the University’s progressive strides in research, innovation, and inclusivity. She acknowledged the industry collaborations and initiatives through the Centre of Design, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The focus on increasing enrollment from tribal and underprivileged communities, including the divyangjan, was particularly appreciated.

Addressing students, she emphasised the transformative impact of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, 3D Printing, and Cloud Computing, while urging responsible use. “This is Amrit Kaal, a defining era where every citizen’s contribution is vital for making India a developed nation by 2047,” she said.

🏫 Foundation Laid for Redevelopment of Girls’ High School

In a subsequent ceremony, President Murmu laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of three buildings of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School. She expressed confidence that upgraded infrastructure would elevate the quality of education and foster an empowering learning environment.

The President highlighted the achievements of women across sectors and encouraged girl students to draw inspiration from trailblazers in science, literature, commerce, and industry. “With knowledge, self-confidence and determination, women can achieve even the impossible,” she said.
