As India glows with festive lights and devotion, top national and state leaders — including President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi — extended heartfelt greetings to citizens on the occasion of Diwali 2025, urging everyone to celebrate with compassion, unity, and sustainability.
President Murmu’s Heartfelt Message
President Droupadi Murmu conveyed her wishes on X (formerly Twitter), saying,
“On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians, both in India and across the world.”
She described Diwali as a symbol of light triumphing over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. The President encouraged citizens to use the festival as an opportunity for self-reflection and to support those in need, spreading joy and kindness.
“May this Diwali bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all,” she added.
PM Modi Wishes Harmony and Prosperity
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his Diwali greetings to the nation, saying that the festival of lights should inspire positivity and harmony among people.
“May this festival illuminate our lives with happiness and prosperity,” the Prime Minister said, wishing that “the spirit of positivity prevails all around us.”
Vice President and Odisha Leaders Share Greetings
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan shared his message, extending “warm greetings and hearty wishes to all Indians and friends of India, both in the country and abroad.”
From Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi greeted citizens on X, writing,
“On the occasion of Deepavali, I extend greetings and congratulations to the people of the state. May this festival bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all.”
BJP National Vice President and MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda also wished everyone a joyful and prosperous Diwali, praying for “the victory of righteousness over evil” and hoping that “every day brings new energy and new hope.”
Nationwide Celebrations Begin
Across India, homes, temples, and streets shimmered with diyas, candles, and colorful decorations as families offered prayers to Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity. The atmosphere across cities and villages was filled with festive joy, devotion, and togetherness.
