President Droupadi Murmu made a compassionate visit to a critically ill student at the burn unit of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The visit followed her participation in the institute’s fifth convocation ceremony, where she addressed students and faculty, emphasizing the importance of healthcare and education in nation-building.
Accompanied by Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the President visited the specialized burn unit at Sishu Bhawan, a dedicated pediatric facility within AIIMS. The visit was a gesture of support and concern for the young patient, who is receiving critical care at the hospital.
During her visit, President Murmu interacted with the medical team, inquiring about the student’s condition and the treatment being provided. She expressed her appreciation for the dedication of the AIIMS staff and wished for the speedy recovery of the patient.
